Looking for a band...
Hey hey, i'm flick. I'm 18, and a guitarist. Based in Glasgow, me and my mate Mike (Vocals) are trying to set up an Industrial/Death Metal band. We've both had band experience, and have a wide range if influences, including Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Deadstar Assembly and Static - X.
We're looking for a drummer, bassist, second guitarist and maybe a keyboard player. Mike's 19, preferably people of the same age, however 20's is no big deal. We're serious, and plan to writing an album as soon as possible, with a good flow of gigs when we are ready. I'm at Uni and Mike's working, so tours wont be happening, but we'd like to try and have around a gig a week when we are ready. Stage shows mean a lot to us, so we want fun, vibrant people with their own style!
If you're interested comment and add me!

Forming a Band
Hey! - Right on Cue with this new site / community,
As a Goth band is currently what i'm trying to get together.
I'm a vocalist (powerful tenor with good range) and quite a few years experience - mainly in heavy rock bands. I have a bass player onboard and an excellent songwriter able to provide material. Rock - Rock n' Roll - Swing would be the best way to describe it.
What i'm looking for are:
and ideally a Keyboard player
Though other instruments would be cool too...
I'm in Surrey and the bassist is in S London - rehearsal location dependant on who I can get. Commitment 1 rehearsal or gig / week, at weekends.
If anyone's interested let me know,

Just what I've been looking for...
Well I thought I'd make a second post...
I am a young Classically and Jazz trained musician into the Gothic scene. I play Violin (although am pretty rusty these days) and sing with a deep Jazzy voice. I also own a microkorg which I have fun messing about with mostly. I'd love to form some kind of gothic group having been mainly in metal bands and having found they don't really meet my needs. I'm based in Brighton (well... Hove actually!).
My influences are many... Souxie Souix, The Cruxshadows, The Dresden Dolls, Muse, Curve, Emilie Autumn, The Birthday Massacre etc etc. I'm particullaly interested in doing something in the Curve/Emilie Autumn/Birthday Massacre vein of things. Some Demos that I did with a previous, non-metal band that fell appart and some jazz demos are available to listen to on my Music Myspace
Please comment if interested! Current Mood: pleased
Gigs and Clubs (or lack of)
Hello all. First post in this spiffing new community - i'm Joel, of Leeds and Action Directe, influences Killing Joke, Clash, NMA, PWEI and various other types including a few you might be surprised at.
Just wanted to ask for any thoughts on the lack of any goth/industrial gig circuit in the UK at the moment. We appear to be in a situation where a lot of the better venues of 15 years ago have shut down, and a lot of clubs have stopped doing live gigs as part of their nights and there are very very few dedicated promoters who specify in the scene (and even fewer who aren't Frank Flag).
So what i'm interested in is which venues and promoters regularly book industrial/goth acts, so maybe we could compile a list of them all for future reference? (I have a few but i'll see what the uptake is first!)
Also any nightmare tales or scare stories, for a laugh! My personal scariest gig was a Friday night at the Greyhound in Pontefract, face-to-face with chavs and bikers and being threatened with a glassing. Still went down OK, though...
